On site + What you need

Twin spiral staircase art by Anna Muirhead

Access is by 1400m 4WD track and we will transport you in our charming old 4WD van up that track from the carpark (or the train station). Sorry but guests can’t drive to the site currently. Check-in is from 2-5pm daily but if you book via our website and get in touch early we might be able to arrange something outside those times.

Our domes have all the creature comforts (yes, they have showers), but are still solar powered and entirely off grid. By collaborating with various artists we’re building an evolving arts programme, that responds to the site and will evolve over time.

Currently we have a floor to ceiling cut out work commission Anna Muirhead (in the Gallery Dome) and an outdoor audio installation by Rotor Plus called “Even from here (low pressure / high pressure” written with sunset in mind. Speaking of music, in the Gallery you’ll also have access to specially curated playlists to soundtrack your stay.

There’s plenty more in the works in the months ahead, including a living sculpture, so follow along on Instagram to see the collection grow.

There are outdoor baths fed with filtered and treated spring water from each dome’s hot water system, too.

See if you can find Blair’s hidden hammock!

You don’t have to hide away like a hermit, either. The communal dome is completely transparent and has more space for your group to expand in to, which is perfect especially if the weather isn’t.

The Gallery dome has excellent views and a killer stereo

If you need to get up and down from the site outside the hours of 8am-5pm and a 20 minute walk each way isn’t your thing then please email help@floruit.nz and we’ll see if we can arrange something.

Clothing for all conditions, as they can change quickly. Warm clothing, waterproof gear, layers, hats and gloves in winter. Lighter clothes for your well insulated Dome Life.

Sturdy shoes. Something you can walk in freely, can handle a few uneven surfaces, and don't mind getting muddy and dirty. This is farm land after all.

Anything you may wish to eat or drink, including for breakfast in the morning.

We’ve got cooking appliances and BBQs and will provide milk and coffee (coffee by way of nitro charged espresso - a signature coffee experience that is both easy to make and delicious).

The beds are comfy and the linen is nice. There are towels and toiletries in the bathroom.

We have proper stereos in each dome so please don’t bring your own. If you want killer sound though, you should really book the Gallery Dome.
